tenderness 018
Because school has just started up again, I've had a minimal amount of free time to indulge in the things that I enjoy: attending shows and watching films.
The past couple of days though I was able to have my own screening of Wong Kar-Wai's Chungking Express between classes and other things. I know it's been a minute since I posted one of these long pieces of copy (rant?) about music, but there's a certain scene (I won't spoil it) in the film where they play Fei Wong's cover of "Dreams" by The Cranberries. It absolutely transported me into the world of the characters and the atmosphere of the film. It's dreamy and hazy, but carefully crafted and beautifully shot like any of Kar-Wai's other flicks.
For me, a perfect film has to have a perfect soundtrack and this is no exception.
